We arrived and saw that it was a very steep climb up 272 steps to reach the caves. In 33 degrees of heat I can tell you that I was sweating more then a little when I reached the top. Sorry perspiring. Sheila was glowing (Pigs sweat, men perspire and women glow - correct?) Well Sheila was glowing good style and I could have been perspiring for Scotland.
Anyway we made it to the top and bought a much needed bottle of water. A tourist attraction this busy in UK would undoubtedly cost a good deal to get in so we looked around at the bottom for the pay booth but there was none. At the top I thought there would be a pay booth to sucker you into paying AFTER the climb because lets face it who would pay lots of dosh to climb those stairs. Well there was no pay booth. It is totally free.
Off this evening to a supper at the Head of School's place.

ReplyDeleteJust been reading your blog about your tour of the caves not my kind of interest i've got to say but everyone to their own Id rather go to the shops In contrast to your weather we have had lots of rain over the last two days.Dave was at the football his beloved team got beat from Hearts 4-0 men playing with boys he said. We had a visit from Nicola tonight she came in to pick up her mail and gave us an update of the new school so that was nice to see her. I had a very quiet day Dave at the footie Valerie working so I just spoke to myself.I noticed in the courier today that Jean Redpath has died aged 77 I remember at one point you were a great admirer of her.We were both out last night at a farewell party for the church parish assistant who is retiring it was really good very well organised.Colin arrived home yesterday glad to be home he came down to see us Megan is off on her holiday I suppose you will get all that news on facebook.Not won the lottery anyway thats the nos just come on the telly.Hope you enjoyed your evening out at theHeads place.Thats 10 15pm so i'm off to bed to read my book speak to you both soon.love mum xx
